No Glove, No Love - 11-05-09

My friend, the late Billy McComb is considered a legend in magic, and so is this story he enjoyed telling about one of the tricks he performed. The trick was called "Sands of the Desert" and part of the secret was that each performance of it required multiple condoms. Yes, condoms.

Billy was booked in a club for a six week run and had to do eight shows a week and each show used up three condoms. He figured for the length of the run he was going to need 144 condoms or a gross. He headed to the local pharmacy and bought a gross of condoms. At home he prepared all the condoms for the shows, and realized he was two condoms short.

Billy stormed back into the pharmacy. He was extremely aggravated by this inconvenience and said to the pharmacist "Remember me, I was here yesterday and bought 144 condoms from you, well there were only 142!"

The pharmacist said "Well I hope it didn't ruin your night."
